Question
Peter –
Can this product be used for a liner in a raised garden box to prevent rot of untreated wood
Is it safe for food producing plants.

Ross Carmen –
absolutely….should be used in all raised gardens….yes it is safe. The double dimple product works great. It has a 1/8″ profile and can be fastened with screws. If you choose the foundation membrane you will need plugs and membrane cap. Both products prevent the soil from touching the wood.
Question
primetime77 –
I find the membrane cap be too bulky and have had better success with additional plugs and completing a shiplapedge over the top to seal the wall. Is this an acceptable option?

Ross Carmen –
The cap is there to prevent any sand, gravel, or dirt from entering and potentially blocking the drainage path.
Question
Bill –
Should the membrane top be completely buried with interlocking some and polymeric sand, and should the sine be equal or below to the membrane level against the house?

Ross Carmen –
The membrane should not be exposed to UV for long periods of time.
Question
Bruce –
If i seal the top edge of superseal how does it vent any moisture vapor wicked up through the foundation wall? I want to vent my foundation walls to the outside, keeping the inside drier.

Ross Carmen –
Sealing the top is only optional and by providing airflow, this will allow tiny bits of moisture to dissipate in a much larger area. A dehumidifier may also be an option if moisture levels remain high.
Question
Heather Nelson –
Should the backfill level come to top of membrane and is there a top phlange on membrane to stop anything from getting between the membrane and the wall?

Ross Carmen –
It should not be exposed to UV for long periods of time. 1″ below grade line. We have a molding strip that should cap the top to prevent water and debris from entering.

Who determines if a waterproofing peel and stick or similar should be applied to the ICF prior to the dimple board being applied.

Awesome!
Les Curtis –
What kind/type of sealant should be used where super seal dimple wrap overlaps?
Ross Carmen –
Superseal is compatible with almost all sealants. Plastic cement, roof patch, foundation mastic are popular products. It is available in pails and tubes
Ross Carmen –
Ultimately it is up to the local building inspector to determine what they will accept. Superseal has an ICC evaluation that states it can be installed as a stand alone form of water protection on an ICF.
